Samantha L. Quigley


Samantha L. Quigley is the editor in chief of ON★PATROL. She joined the USO in January 2010.

Quigley has nearly 20 years of journalism experience. She was the assistant metro editor at the Anniston Star in Anniston, Alabama, before moving to Washington, D.C., to work as a copy editor and page designer for Stars and Stripes military newspaper. Quigley then worked the American Forces Press Service, where she traveled with Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates, Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and his predecessor General Peter Pace.

At the Department of Defense, she also covered the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami from Meulaboh and Banda Aceh, Indonesia, and “Operation My Space” from Camp Buehring in Kuwait. 

A graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Quigley holds a bachelor of arts in journalism with an emphasis in magazine writing and photojournalism. She’s currently pursuing a masters of professional studies in journalism at Georgetown University.
